Well, well. What am I to say? I'll admit it, I never give these guys enough credit. I try and try to dislike their sound, but it's so damn tough. They create catchy hooks that are just so downright yummy. It's probably not "cool" to like Cake, but goddammit, how could you not? Songs like, "Short Skirt/Long Jacket," and "Love You Madly" are pop gems. Sidenote: The title track. "Comfort Eagle," was used in the movie "Shallow Hal." |
