After one full length and an EP, The Impossibles gained an underground following and broke up before many people even heard them. After a few years and a few side projects, The Impossibles are back 4 the attack with their newest full length offering, "Return". Gone are the ska riffs from their first two releases which is definitely a step in the right direction. This leaves them with a more rocking, angsty, Weezer-esque formula. It also shows The Impossibles expanding on their already perfected power pop sound with the piano driven "Intermission" and acoustic closer "Stopping Sound". If they could incorporate more variety like these two songs into their sound, I think The Impossibles would definitely be a much more enjoyable listening experience. Don't get me wrong, they are definitely better than a great majority of bands playing this style of music, but it can get a little bit repetitive at times. That's my only complaint. Aside from that, "Return" is chock full of catchy pop hooks, anger, and raw emotion. This is definitely an album that will have you rocking out, banging on your steering wheel, and yelling out the lyrics, while the person in the car next to you is making sure their doors are locked and impatiently waiting for the traffic light to change.
